“Oh Let the Sun Shine”
CPCA Pro Tour stop number 3 wrapped up this past weekend and what a great weekend of racing it was. Most importantly, the sun was shining all 3 days. Dewberry is one stop that everyone always looks forward to because there is so much Chuckwagon Pride and History in the little community.
Night number 1 saw 2017 Champion Wayne Knight with his Tim Winterhalt Farm outfit take top time with a 109.05. Ray Mitsuing driving for Sunridge RV/Greenlight Auto came in a close 2nd with a time of 109.53 and Lane Tournier’s outfit G-Force Oilfield Services showed us what depth he has in his barn by stopping the clock at 109.67 which was good enough for 3rd.
Night 2 saw BJ Carey’s non-point hook Ron’s Plumbing and Heating taking top time with a 109.12 with Chance Bensmiller and his non-point hook L&L Oilfield taking 2nd with a time of 110.06 and rounding out the top 3 was Jamie Laboucane with City Centre Autobody clocking in at 110.24.
Championship Sunday did not disappoint. With a few different drivers in the hunt to win The Allan Bensmiller Memorial no one could beat the man at the top Wayne Knight with his total running time of 330.17. Hometown boy Chance Bensmiller with First General Services took top time of the day with a 109.27 and close behind for 2nd day money was Rookie Driver Dale Mitsuing driving for John’s Welding Lloydminster with a 109.72.
CPCA would like to thank the Dewberry Race Committee and the Village of Dewberry for their great commitment and support to the sport of Chuckwagon Racing.
