ABOUT

After retiring at the end of the 2022 WPCA season Vern will be back to his roots driving with the CPCA in 2025.

Vern is a veteran of the race track with as much success under his belt as a driver could hope for. His driving career began in 2000, was the CPCA’s most improved driver in 2004, CPCA High Point Driver in 2012, 11 CPCA show championships. Vern qualified for the CPCA Championship Dash eight times in eleven years. After a remarkable career in the CPCA Vern began driving in the WPCA in 2016 where he also found plenty of success. In six seasons Vern won four WPCA show championships. With accolades like being a repeat qualifier to the Calgary Stampede championship final heat, we can say we’re sure glad to have him hitting the CPCA track in 2025

In the off season Vern works as a carpenter and calls Dewberry, Alberta home. Him and Lisa Bensmiller have seven children that are no strangers to wagon life either – Brett, Brendan, Cruise, Paynton, August, Sienna and Madelyn.
